Jackman Law Honors Remembrance Day at Soldiers’ Tower
On November 11, the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law gathered with the University of Toronto community at Soldiers’ Tower for the annual Service of Remembrance. The ceremony honoured those who served and those who gave their lives in times of war and conflict, marking the anniversary of the Armistice that ended the First World War. This year’s service also reflected on the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
The program featured a carillon recital, readings, musical tributes, and the laying of wreaths to commemorate University of Toronto students, faculty, staff, and alumni who served. Flags across U of T’s three campuses were lowered to half-mast in recognition of their sacrifice and service.
Remembrance Day invites reflection not only on our history, but on ongoing commitments to peace, justice, and the dignity of all who serve. The Jackman Faculty of Law community honours the courage of service members and acknowledges the lasting impact of their contributions.
Lest we forget.
