UK Minister of State for Courts and Legal Services Visits the Henry N.R. Jackman Faculty of Law
On November 4, 2025, the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Law was honoured to welcome Sarah Sackman, the United Kingdom’s Minister of State for Courts and Legal Services, and Baroness Smith of Cluny KC, Advocate General for Scotland, for an official visit as part of the UK’s GREAT Legal Services Trade Mission to Toronto.
Minister Sackman and Baroness Smith met with Dean Jutta Brunnée, Professor Mariana Prado (Associate Vice-President and Vice-Provost, International Student Experience), and faculty members in Law and Technology, including Professor Vincent Chiao and Professor Nathalie Smuha.
The visit included discussions on innovation, law, and technology, as well as a tour of the Henry N.R. Jackman Law Building. The Faculty was delighted to share insights into its academic and research initiatives and to explore opportunities for international collaboration in legal education and innovation.
