Juan-Carlos Castaneda is a Senior Manager in Accenture Canada’s Data & AI Security practice, advising and leading transformation initiatives at the intersection of cybersecurity, AI security and governance, data protection, and digital trust for global clients and institutions.

With over 25 years of experience in technology and cybersecurity, Juan-Carlos has advised boards, CISOs, and senior leaders across financial services, telecommunications, retail, and public sector organizations in North America and beyond. His expertise spans AI security and governance, cybersecurity strategy, data privacy and protection, cloud security, and executive risk advisory.

His current work focuses on helping organizations adopt AI securely, manage emerging risks associated with generative and agentic AI, protect sensitive information, and translate legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements into practical governance, security, and technology capabilities. He also contributes to industry and academic initiatives involving AI security, synthetic data privacy, and the evolving relationship between cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, technology governance, and law. As an industry collaborator at the Vector Institute, he co-authored a white paper on synthetic data privacy, and was an invited speaker at the Vector Remarkable Conference.
