Jackman Law is a vibrant community of curious scholars, always interested to learn what others are thinking about. We welcome academic visitors to the faculty to contribute to that community and to participate in our lively workshops and colloquia and to engage with our faculty and students in more informal settings.
Academic visitorship is an ideal opportunity for full-time faculty members at other institutions who are on sabbatical, hold a portable research fellowship, or have other funding to support their visit. Academic visitors are not compensated by the University of Toronto.
A full-time member of the Jackman Law Faculty will host each visitor. Potential visitors should first contact a full-time faculty member to inquire about their availability and willingness to host a research visit, and ask that faculty member to provide a letter of support. Potential visitors should email the letter of support, a current CV, research proposal and the proposed dates of the visit to associatedean.law@utoronto.ca. While visits can vary in length, please note that our academic year begins in September and runs until the end of April. Applications must be submitted by 1 March for a visit at any point during the academic year beginning the following September.
