The lecture will examine whether judicial review reconciles modern executive power with the Rule of Law.

About Professor Tom Hickman KC

Professor Tom Hickman KC holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and the University of Toronto. He is Professor of Public Law at UCL and is one of the UK's leading public law barristers, practising at Blackstone Chambers. Tom has litigated many landmark  cases including the Brexit Article 50 challenge (Miller No. 1), the prorogation challenge (Miller No. 2), the Scotland Independence Referendum Reference and, most recently, Bahrain v Shehabi on state immunity.

He has been awarded the Sutherland Prize for Legal History and is the first person to give oral evidence on foreign law to the Bundesverfassungsgericht (the German Constitutional Court).
