Overview
ILJ publishes articles, notes, case comments, and reviews grounded in all areas of study pertaining to both the laws of Indigenous Peoples and the law as it affects Indigenous Peoples.
Students, faculty, practitioners and members of the judiciary are invited to submit papers. Submissions from all perspectives are encouraged as the ILJ presents a non-partisan forum for discussion.
The Indigenous Law Journal (ILJ) is available exclusively online and is open access.
Submissions & subscriptions
ILJ encourages submissions from Indigenous perspectives in addition to submissions regarding or from within Indigenous legal systems.
Please direct all submissions and all questions about submissions to submissions.ilj@utoronto.ca to ensure the integrity of our double-blind selection process.
How to get involved
As a student-run journal, there are many ways to participate.
Students in any year of our law school who have an interest in Aboriginal, Constitutional, Human Rights and/or International comparative law, are encouraged to apply to be associate editors with the ILJ. No specific experience is required for this rewarding hands-on position. There is in-depth involvement of upper-year students at the senior editor level.
