Acting Director, Student Programs

Allison P. Williams joins us as our Acting Director, Student Programs for a one-year term effective Monday, February 2, 2026.

Allison was a litigation lawyer at Justice for Children and Youth (JFCY), one of Ontario’s specialty community legal clinics. Since joining JFCY in 2019, her practice has focused on providing summary advice, referrals, and direct representation to children and young people – often navigating complex and intersecting legal issues. Her work also includes public legal education, law reform initiatives, and participation in test case litigation.

Allison holds a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, which she completed in 2015, following a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen’s University and a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto. While at Osgoode, she received the Ian Scott Public Interest Fellowship and spent a summer working with the Grand Council Treaty #3 Women’s Council. She later articled at the Office of the Children’s Lawyer and was called to the Ontario bar in 2016. Prior to joining JFCY, Allison practiced primarily in immigration and refugee law, administrative law, and family law at a small firm.

In addition to her professional work, Allison is deeply engaged in community and sector leadership. She currently volunteers as President of the Queen’s University Alumni Association, serves as a Board Member of the Childhood Arrivals Support and Advocacy Centre of Canada, and is a member of the OBA Child and Youth Law Section Executive Committee.

In her role as Acting Director, Student Programs, Allison will work closely with the Assistant Dean, JD Program and will support the planning, development, and delivery of a wide range of student life programming for law students. This includes initiatives related to health and wellness, Indigenous programming, mentorship, international experiences, orientation, and more. She will also support the Faculty's public interest clinics and programs, and oversee the summer fellowship program.
