
Brandon Kain
Brandon Kain, B.A. (Hon.) (Queen’s) 1998, M.A. (Toronto) 1999, LL.B. (Honours) (Toronto), 2003, called to the Bar of Ontario in 2004, partner at the firm of McCarthy Tétrault LLP, where he practices in the Toronto Litigation Group and is the Head of the National Appellate Litigation Group. Mr. Kain’s practice focuses on appellate litigation, commercial disputes, regulatory law and class actions. He has acted in over 20 appeals before the Supreme Court of Canada, including as lead counsel for the appellant, in addition to numerous cases before the Federal, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador, Ontario and Saskatchewan courts. Mr. Kain teaches economic torts and advanced contract law, and is the author of Good Faith in Canadian Contract Law (Toronto: LexisNexis Canada, 2024), a two-volume text that is the leading treatise in the area. He has also published over 20 articles in a variety of legal journals, several of which have been cited by the Supreme Court of Canada and the United Kingdom Supreme Court.
