Manager, Recruitment, Admissions, and Diversity Outreach

Deborah Peart is an award winning, higher education professional with over 20 years of extensive experience in several divisions and faculties at the University of Toronto and close to 10 years’ experience specifically in roles related to admissions, student recruitment, and the development of equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives. Deborah most recently served as the Assistant Director, EDI Recruitment and Engagement in the Registrar’s Office at OISE, where she was the receipt of the 2025 Leadership Award.

She is passionate about developing access pathways to the University of Toronto for underrepresented and non-traditional prospective students and combines her professional expertise in student recruitment and outreach with her passion and commitment to social justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

She was instrumental in shaping the Black Future Educators’ Pathway at OISE and created and spearheaded the implementation and development of the Black Access to Educational Excellence initiative, which advances high school students’ awareness and efficacy to pursue a university degree.

Deborah is currently working on the completion of her thesis in pursuit of a Master of Arts in Social Justice Education at OISE.
