Environmental Law

Safeguarding the environment and tackling climate change has become one of the defining challenges of the 21st century.

Environmental law involves the governance of our relationship with the natural environment, ranging from regulatory approaches to pollution control, management of natural resources, or ecosystem and species protection, to rights-based or fiscal approaches.

Our leading scholars in international and national environmental law are training the next generation of legal advocates on role of law in regulating environmental impacts and promoting mitigation of and adaptation to climate change.

Beyond the classroom

As a student here, you can gain practical experience through an Environmental Law externship, working on a current environmental case or issue with an environmental law lawyer.
