Michael Valo
Michael Valo is a partner at Glaholt Bowles LLP in Toronto and a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex construction and infrastructure disputes. Known for his thoughtful and practical approach, Michael has represented owners, contractors, and engineers on some of the largest and most challenging projects in Canada and internationally — from pipelines and power plants to mining and light rail projects. His practice focuses on international arbitration and dispute resolution across a range of delivery models, including P3, EPC, and design-build. He is a founding member of the Society of Construction Law North America, and has been recognized by Lexpert and Lexology as a leader in his field. Michael is the author of Construction Delay and Disruption Claims in Canada, the country’s first dedicated legal text on the subject, to be published by LexisNexis in October 2025. He writes and speaks regularly on topics including delay claims, expert evidence, arbitration, and emerging issues in construction law.
