R. Scott MacKendrickB.A.Sc., Chemical Engineering (Toronto) 1982, LL.B. (Queen's) 1985, and was admitted to the Bar of Ontario in 1987. He is of Counsel at ROBIC LLP, practising primarily in intellectual property litigation, the acquisition of intellectual property rights and the licensing of those rights. He has lectured on patent law at the law school of the University of Toronto for more than twenty years. He has also lectured on patent law at Osgoode Hall Law School and, as well, on IP rights at the University of Victoria. He has also spoken on IP rights at programs held at McGill University and the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has also written extensively on IP topics. He is an elected alumni member of the University’s Governing Council, and is past President of the University of Toronto Alumni Association, past Chair of the University’s College of Electors, and is a recipient of the University’s Arbor Award. He is a member of numerous organizations concerned with intellectual property, including the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the International Trademark Association.
