The Early Career Teaching Award recognizes exceptional commitment to student learning, pedagogical engagement and teaching innovation. It is restricted to assistant professors in the tenure stream who are within the first six years of their academic appointment, and have completed two years of teaching at U of T.
2015 - Anthony Niblett
The JJ Berry Smith Doctoral Supervision Award recognizes outstanding performance in the multiple roles associated with doctoral supervision. It is awarded to active faculty members who, over a minimum of 15 years, have demonstrated excellence in supervision at UofT by inspiring and guiding students to reach excellence in scholarship; providing an environment that is supportive and stimulating; enabling students to learn the essential methodologies, concepts and cultures of their discipline; introducing students to the wider content and relevant communities of scholars; positioning students for future careers both within and outside academe; fostering a strong sense of academic integrity.
