From trade to war, human rights to environmental protection, public international law governs the legal obligations of states in their conduct with one another, and their treatment of individuals within their borders.
We are at the forefront of the exciting and rapidly changing area of international and comparative law. Our faculty members include leading academics in international, comparative, and transnational legal studies who are developing concrete and comprehensive responses to the challenges of globalization.
We offer our students an extensive array of opportunities to immerse themselves in the study of global legal issues through coursework, clinical experiences, internships, journals, student groups, joint programs, workshops, moot competitions and international student exchanges.
Courses
Upper year students may select amongst courses in public international law, private international law, international human rights, international trade regulation, international business and finance, international arbitration, and law and development.
Beyond the classroom
Our International Human Rights Program (IHRP) provides a range of experiential opportunities in international human rights: students may enrol in the clinic, volunteer for working groups, or participate in Rights Review.
