Description

This course aims to cultivate analytical, research and writing skills through problem based learning. The approach is to use fact situations to hone legal research and analysis skills including: identifying legal issues; formulating research strategies and methodologies; efficiently using relevant secondary sources; analyzing and synthesizing applicable primary sources; applying critical thinking; and writing clearly and effectively.

The development of the skills in this course will assist students in their academic course work and prepare them for their professional careers.

Evaluation

A research outline 500 words (10%), legal opinion 2000- 2500 words (35%), factum 3750- 4500 words (45%), and class participation (10%).
