Post-graduation Debt Repayment Assistance Program (PDRAP)
PDRAP provides interest-free loans to help cover required payments on eligible academic debt, such as government student loans and authorized Professional Lines of Credit from Jackman Law.
You may join, leave, and rejoin the program at any time during the 10-year eligibility period, depending on your employment status, health circumstances, caregiving responsibilities, or if you are continuing your education.
Each year, a portion of your outstanding loan is forgiven. The longer you remain in a lower-paying career, the greater the forgiveness—up to full loan forgiveness if you stay in the program for the entire 10 years.
If your income increases and you no longer qualify to participate in PDRAP, you’ll need to start repaying any remaining balance on your PDRAP loan. This balance remains interest-free and must be repaid by the end of your 10-year eligibility period.
Important: Before applying to PDRAP, you must take advantage of the federal government’s Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP).
Allocation of PDRAP Funds
The Financial Aid Office will distribute PDRAP funds among eligible participants each application year.
Your PDRAP benefits will be prorated based on the number of participants receiving assistance and the available funds for that year. As a result, the benefits calculated for you using the allocation formula may not be guaranteed in a given year.
Eligibility and Exclusions
Application Timeline
You can apply for the program the year after you graduate. For example, alumni who graduated in 2024 may apply for PDRAP benefits in 2025.
The deadline for submitting a PDRAP application is June 15th.
PDRAP applications are assessed based on your financial situation for the calendar year. You must submit an application each year to claim benefits. No supporting documents will be accepted after July 15th. If you submit a late application, include a letter explaining any extenuating circumstances for the delay.
You will receive a decision on your complete PDRAP application by letter in June of each year.

Forgiveness Schedule
PDRAP helps you pay off your eligible debt. Each year you remain in the program, 10% of your outstanding loan amount is forgiven.
If you leave the program (whether due to ineligibility or failure to submit an application), the carried forward loan amount becomes due, and you will need to begin repaying it.
