JD program fees

Approved by U of T’s Governing Council

Fees consist of:

Academic fees, including instruction and library;
Incidental and ancillary fees, including campus fees, student orientation, health insurance & dental plan, athletic facility fees and student system access fees.

Indigenous students are eligible for the Indigenous tuition initiative offered by the University of Toronto towards the JD tuition and fees.

Students will be asked to provide documentation to confirm membership/citizenship. All documents provided will be reviewed by the U of T Office of Indigenous Initiatives.
JD program fees are charged per academic year (Full-time/Half-time), and not by term or by individual course.

Note: Year 1 classes begin in August. The JD Program fee includes the August classes.
Upper year classes begin in September.
Note: International students are required to pay the mandatory University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) premium. If enrolling for the academic year, a 12-month UHIP premium is charged in the Fall term. If enrolling for one term only, half of the premium is charged in the relevant term.
By permission, only
JD academic program fees are by academic year only, and not by term or by individual course.
Students given permission to enrol half-time are charged half of the total program fee for the enrolment year.
They may pay for each term:
- half of the term program fee plus
- half of the incidental/ancillary fees for the term
