Graduating students enter Simco Hall for Convocation

Financial Aid

Our top priority is ensuring that every student who earns admission has the opportunity to attend. The JD Financial Aid Program is designed to remove financial barriers by supporting students who demonstrate need.

Excellence without barriers

Our student community comprises rigorous thinkers and curious learners poised to become future leaders. To maintain accessible legal education, we deliver higher bursaries to JD students than any other Ontario university – owing to the generous support of our alumni and friends.

Over $5M in support each year

Our progressive funding model is designed so that students with the highest financial need receive the most support. To ensure tuition is not a barrier, we distribute more than $5 million in financial aid each year and 40% of domestic students receive a bursary.

Needs-based financial support

We base admissions entirely on merit. That means your ability to pay tuition doesn’t play any role in our decision-making. Financial need is looked at separately through our JD Financial Aid Program, which is designed specifically to support students who require assistance.

Individualized plans

Every student brings their own unique experiences and circumstances, and we’re committed to supporting each new member of our J.D. community in a personalized way. Want to get a sense of the bursaries you might qualify for? Try our Financial Aid Estimator—it’s a quick and easy way to see what kind of financial support could be available to you.
