Workshop: Hausman
Description
Note: Students cannot take more than one workshop for credit in a given year.
This seminar is the James Hausman Tax Law and Policy Workshop. The James Hausman Tax Law and Policy Workshop brings emerging and internationally-recognized tax law and policy scholars to the law school to present their current research.
In past years, the workshop has featured presentations by researchers from Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Israel, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The workshop focusses on both theoretical policy questions, and domestic and international tax matters more specific to Canada and to a much lesser extent the United States.
Evaluation
This course is credit/no credit. Students are expected to attend all workshop meetings and to prepare a one-page, single spaced response paper in advance of each workshop. Students must, in this response paper, structure it as a question directly relating to the research and then a discussion of that question. Students’ participation in workshops’ question-and-answer discussions will also be evaluated. Note: Students must pass both the paper and the participation component to receive credit for the workshop; students with two or more unjustified absences from the workshop or who do not timely submit two or more response papers will not receive credit.
Credit Note
1 ungraded credit.
