Law & Economics

Law and economics deploys the tools and methodologies of economics to study legal rules and institutions, across a broad range of legal fields and subjects from public and private law, corporate and commercial law to environmental and technology law.

Our scholars have long been at the forefront applying economic analysis to law, becoming one of the leading global centres for research in this area.

Led by our distinguished law and economics scholars, The Michael J. Trebilcock Law and Economics Program is designed to promote teaching and research in the field.

The Law and Economics Workshop brings leading scholars to U of T Law, to share their works.
