Description

Note: This course satisfies the "Legal Ethics" graduation requirement.

This course introduces students to legal ethics and professional responsibility. The foundations of ethical reasoning, the Rules of Professional Conduct, and the principles and values which underlie legal ethics will be examined. Topics to be considered include: the solicitor-client relationship, the roles and responsibilities of the advocate in both civil and criminal litigation, conflicts of interest, privilege and confidentiality, and the regulation of the legal profession.

Evaluation

3-hour limited open book examination (100%).
