The Class of 2028 brings a diverse array of credentials and life experiences and includes a parliamentary affairs advisor, a philanthropy coordinator, a professional hockey player and a behavioural therapist.

2,771 prospective students applied for Fall 2025 admission to the JD program, up from 2,607 last year.

Students’ top five reasons for choosing U of T Law include:

• Student support and financial aid

Of the new JD students:

• 85% are the first in their family to attend law school
• 31% were born outside of Canada
• 45% are students of colour
• 20% are part of the LGBTQ+ community
• 56% are female-identifying

Students who study at Jackman Law can also complete a second, graduate-level degree in another discipline which complements their JD legal education. This year, students are entering combined programs including Business Administration (MBA), Criminology (MA), Economics (MA), English (MA), Global Affairs (MGA) and Public Policy (MPP).
